Amalya Shandelman
“The only way to produce exceptional photos is to be in love with what one photographs. Indeed, I am in love with my subjects -- my models, and all the places I visit. This love is the overwhelming factor in everything I create.”
Russian-American photographer Amalya Shandelman was born into an artistic family; from an early age, [she knew] she was attracted to photography, traversing the streets of Moscow to capture images of the city. Following high school, Amalya studied journalism at university and then moved to Boston and later to Houston where her photography practice took off in earnest. Amalya specializes in expansive natural landscapes and emotional personal portraits.
