"I believe photography gives alerts and awakens."

"After the fall of Soviet Union, the Civil war emerged in Georgia, which made me say goodbye to my country. My family moved to U.S. from Georgia in 94’. I was very young, nine years old. After three years of going to an american school, I remember one morning, my father asked me to read out loud the first paragraph of Tom Sawyer in Georgian. It was hard to believe the fact that I I could not even get far then a sentence. Trying my best to remember every letter in Georgian, it took me an hour to finally finish the paragraph. I remember the shock on my father's face, when I could not even tell him the summary of what I read. That year, we went back to Georgia. Struggling in learning my language back, I go hold of a camera, which became the tool of my expression. I did not need any language to speak. Photographing moments that made impressions on my everyday life."

"Remembering what I left behind as a kid, City with burned buildings and chaos, I wanted to tell stories about the people of Caucasus who are going through constant struggle. I feel closely connected with the subjects I am documenting. I have been a photographer ever since."

"People I photograph inspire me, their character, gesture, energy, how they live, everything about them is interesting. I create photographs that contain moments of my impressions on life. The moods and situations that become important to me. Telling stories with photographs I believe I can show others, how it is like for some people around the world."

"I take my camera and go. I love everything about the process of taking photos. I meet new people everyday and learn new aspects of everyday life."
