FRANCO THE CREATOR
“Afrikan writer Chinua Achebe said "Great artists do not have a Homeland", that's who I am - both global and Nubian.
‘‘I have always had a passion for archeology because I'm constantly amazed by human history, the ancient cultures, Persian, Roman, Greek, the Ming era in China, the Yoruba, or Zulu civilizations in Africa, and everything mankind has built and established. I believe in learning the rules and then breaking them in order to create beauty and a sense that the impossible can be made possible. My greatest inspiration comes from nature, and the 25 million years of evolution that bring us to the point we are today, complex and simple, natural and sophisticated, the best and the worst. We are the past, we are the future, we are a part of nature.
Inside each and every one of us lies primitive memories that are genetic. We use symbols to express something. Symbols are the building blocks of consciousness and communication. In exploring the symbolism in my work, I hope it can reconnect us to that primal part of us that we may have forgotten. In doing this I hope it serves as a reminder of our identity as Godly beings with supernatural potential.”
