GREGORY DOROSH
“Using a photo editing program, I modify the picture to my vision on how the composition will look. I choose my color scheme and the placement of the elements of the composition as I go and thus the landscape paintings do not appear exactly as the picture I reference from”
Lagoona Lake II, Acrylic, 2024
Gregory Dorosh considers himself to be an impressionist artist. His artwork consists of landscapes, still life, and figures, with landscapes being his primary focus. The photographs he captures during his travels serve as references for his landscape paintings, which he modifies to create the compositions he envisions. Some of his landscape paintings originate purely from his imagination.
Being from New Jersey, he favors earth tones in his work. He developed his painting style and technique through the study of Renaissance and Impressionist art. His artistic influences include Goya, Rembrandt, Monet, and Renoir.
