"My first photograph was of my biggest role model. She was my guide to the outside world - away from my suffocating small town. She was my favorite aunt. We spent one rainy Saturday in Seattle, using a North facing window in her bedroom as our light source. We took polaroid after polaroid of each other. I was shy but she was patient. From then on I wanted to take photos."
