“FEDERICA ON MARTA’S WORK: The mastectomy changed my body drastically and in an irreversible way. To keep a memory of this body of mine, which has changed along my hopefully first 40 years, I asked Marta to take pictures of it, immortalizing particularly my breast. Beyond the lens I felt the glance of a woman, of a friend, of an artist. Marta not only captured the image of my still body, in these pictures I rediscover the beauty I thought devastated by the therapies, I rediscover it strong, provocative; and in the scars of that body I see again my life, intense and tenacious.”
