"My work interrogates the derivatives of existence and questions the semblance of control beyond materiality."

"Physics (how a material behaves), perception (how the senses experience a material), and memory (how a material is recalled) provide the conceptual foundation for my work. I replicate and subvert these elements onto personal effects, yielding a space somewhere between solid and distorted, where I can create as I was created. Making becomes an act of defiance towards derivation, offering the illusion of control where none exists."

"My process usually starts with a single sentence. Something I read or see sparks a visual response. From there I begin to work out logistics, to see if the idea is worth pursuing. I draw out installation ideas, run through materials I may need, and consider the time and cost. If I decide to move forward, I gather what I need for step one, and begin. Once into the process, especially if its digital work, there is an abundance of trial and error. Multiple iterations are created until the final selections are made. installations are more of a living creature than my 2D work; I prefer having enough time to install, experience, and adjust until I get it right. I go into the install with an idea, but often will need to rework elements in order for the art and the space to work cohesively."

"I am a California native, semi-retired F-list actress who decided I had had enough of being the object for other people's products, brands, and ideas. Photography was my entry into art, and was the first dialogue where I felt wholly invested. My work has now grown to include sculpture, installation, and video works that traverse 3D and 2D. I am interested in identity formation, specifically how systems mostly outside of our control inevitably control who we become. I think of it as the amalgamation of the self-- how I become I and you become you-- with each of us using the same systems that at once unite and divide us through experience."
