PAULA BORSETTI

“My work is an exploration and play. The natural world of New England inspires me, from the rocky coast, ocean, marshes, and woods to the lakes, flora, and fauna. The minute and the monumental. I borrow texture, color, movement, pattern, and forms and reimagine them to evoke a sense of a familiar place. I want to spill my relationship with them onto the surface to share what strikes my eye and sings to my heart.” - Paula Borsetti

Paula Borsetti is an artist living and working in Beverly, MA., where she grew up steps from the sea.

For 26 years, she was a high school art teacher, one of the many rewarding paths on her journey. But her studio practice was calling for her full-time attention, making painting her primary focus since June 2020.

Parallel to her practice, Paula and her husband, Joe, established Locust Street Studios, where they collaborate on creating custom-painted paddles, shaped signs, and hand-carved/painted whirligigs.

“I want to spill my relationship with them onto the surface to share what strikes my eye and sings to my heart and hopefully to you, the viewer.”
