Peter Binz
Peter Binz works with different photography, sculptural and digital media techniques, describing his work as graphical and sculptural experiments. He is always about crossing borders, trying to gain insights into other worlds.
"I started my work as an artist at the age of 25. I photographed light reflections on a water surface. Abstract pictures that I edited in the darkroom. It was a breakthrough into another world for me. I worked with this technique for ten years. In my studio, I worked with laser light and high voltage. I call the pictures light painting. It's always about the same topic, about crossing borders into another world. The sculptures it goes in the same direction. With the computer, the fascination is even more significant because I have many more possibilities with it." - Peter Binz
His creative process is experimental, working within different mediums and materials. He uses acrylic glass, chrome steel, copper, and brass for sculptures.
For photography, he draws and paints in the darkroom with the light on photographic material and photographs light reflections on a water surface.
He has been using digital technology for several years, which has given him many possibilities; the digital world fascinates him, whether working with photography or graphics programs.
