At first glance, it may be hard to notice a theme within the diverse images in this series from Adam Custins. But the fierce independent power of these subjects, of women peering far beyond the frame, of the intent of a soul that might just be on fire....  this theme, intended or not, is an inspiration.  Any of these images taken alone is striking in its strength, but as a series, it feels like a celebration.
