Daniel Friend, begins his creative journey with a camera as his initial canvas, using it as the foundation for his artistic exploration. Proficient in the tools of modern photography, he seamlessly integrates artificial intelligence and employs Paintography, a technique involving digital enhancement, to capture and elevate his images into visual experiences. Friend's passion lies in perceiving the world through his own lens, compelling pixels to conform to his artistic vision. Presently, he extends his artistry beyond personal expression, licensing images for diverse commercial and editorial purposes, while also offering exquisite fine art prints for sale.
Daniel Friend has actively participated in various exhibitions, showcasing his artistic prowess. His works have been a permanent fixture at the Monongalia Arts Center (MAC), a non-profit hub for arts and culture in Monongalia County. The MAC houses the Benedum Gallery, Davis Gallery, Tanner Theatre, and a gift shop featuring local artists, providing a platform for Friend to consistently display and sell his art in the lobby. Additionally, he has been a consistent contributor to the Mountaineer Week Craft Fair, an esteemed juried event spotlighting fine-quality Appalachian handcrafted objects by artisans from West Virginia and neighboring states. Over the past 11 years, Daniel Friend has consistently exhibited his art at this fair. Furthermore, his involvement with the Morgantown Art Association (MAA), a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fine arts, has been marked by his membership for the last 11 years. Within this artistic community, Friend has not only showcased his work in the gallery at the Mountaineer Mall in Morgantown, West Virginia but has also been a recipient of numerous best of show and honorable mention awards, highlighting his significant contributions to the vibrant arts scene.
