Ramak Bamzar
"People interest me. Their stories, personalities and where they come from. There is a mystery to discovering people."
"Discovering how their family and origins have shaped who they are. It’s a privilege to tell an expressive narrative through the lens of a camera. Photojournalism was my first love, but as l explored who l was, storytelling and exploring narratives became a major part of the work l undertake now."
"Exploring story, the feminine form and myth within the confines of set of images; the honesty of the way a woman looks and the beauty of the female spirit. Images are a mixture of reality and fairy tales, representing innocence, nature and the magic of a child’s imagination. It is something that we largely lose in adulthood. To honor the whole person in my work, I think it’s important in my work to capture the honesty in a face and the natural beauty that a person possesses; showing the natural beauty of women within a strong narrative by creating a surreal/fantasy environment to explain the beauty of feminine spirit."
"My work is influenced strongly by my emotional journey. It’s hard not to have it come through my work. It is a representation of what l believe in, That of strength, passion, loyalty, love, truth and the magic of imagination and play lives in me. Being creative is a medium to share all those feelings with others through photography and discover how other people feel and think."
