Alexander Babinskiy

“…It is difficult to describe it, but oil with wax gives some kind of cosmic magic to the painting. Layers, one after another, create a fairy tale on a panel in which there is neither beginning nor end.”

- Alexander Babinskiy

Alexander Babinskiy was born in 1964 in Moscow. In his early years, he went to art schools and took art history classes, however, Alexander chose a different path as a profession. He went to study journalism at Moscow State University. In his student years, he was fond of conceptualism and actionism, popular at the time. Having worked in journalism and public relations for more than 25 years, he dared to return to the passion of his youth – paintings. Soon his works in the genre of abstract expressionism were highly appreciated by colleagues from the Creative Union of Artists of the Russian Federation. Alexander Babinskiy enthusiastically works in various techniques, preferring acrylic abstractions and non-figurative plasticization using a combination of oil and cold wax. His works can be found in collections in Russia, Europe, China, and the USA.
