"Every warrior has a weapon, art is mine."
"I create images that begin with a lens, but become digital mixed media works employing digital painting and drawing.I create because I must. I am an artist from every pore in my body."
"Most of my work walks the line between reality and artifce; between soul searching and social commentary. Although my work is introspective and expressive look at my own persona, most are a critique of commonly held societal beliefs."
"My mother was legally blind. She could see shapes and bright colors, but nothing more. As a visual artist, I am dependent on sight for all of my work. For this project, I tried to use the camera to visualize what my mother might have seen when she looked at the Hawaii shoreline. When I began this project, during the summer of 2013, my mother was alive. In the spring of 2014, she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. I never got to her her this project, so I will never know if this was her experience or not. But an acquaintance of mine who was legally blind before she had surgery told me that this was very much how the world looked to her. That means a lot to me."
