“I've been an artist my whole life and the feeling I have when I'm creating something new is no different today than it was when I was ten years old. It's the feeling of going somewhere no one else has been before. Even if the work is similar to others, there is still the excitement of going into uncharted territory. Working with and combining physical materials, feeling every texture, is inspiring to me. But color is the driving inspiration for my embroidered paintings. I wanted to give color its own space and place of honor as subject matter.”
