Lux Eterna
"Command consciousness sets in to direct respective bodies coming together in long durational exploration within earthly elements."
"Lux Eterna is a multidisciplinary artist, freelance commercial photographer and arts educator living, working and exhibiting in Sydney. Maintaining a regular Bodyweather practice, which somatically imprints the natural world and it’s patterns into her body, thus becoming the foundational platform from which she creates work. Obsessed with slowing down in a world moving too fast to give time and/or space to the existential contemplations necessary to breathe from a more human place, life and death cycles, mass extinctions, bones, teeth, rocks, meditation, dance - my work is opening up to include long durational explorations, installations of video and the recreation of vast spaces.A calling? A freedom of personal expression I cannot access elsewhere in my life and veracity."
"I have left my art practice a couple of times to chase the mundane comforts of stability, yet my work seductively beckons me back and there's always the encouragement of fellow artists, performers and collaborators who believe in my work and are ever ready to co-create. There's an effortlessness that transpires when working from my desires and surprise at how seamlessly everything comes together and how immediately my work is shared. Starts with the body - awakening sensitivity in it and to the natural world... Meditation - in vast, desolate landscapes.... Then desire - who I am as a woman, with a camera. Defining the female gaze from my perspective."
