EILEEN LERNER
Nothing’s perfect and time will never be the same, and so I change, and so do my
images, altering them to the transition between the surreal and the moment. I focus on
beauty, in art and nature as if one. The line of a body is as important as the ghostly
movement of tulips in shade.
— Eileen lerner

Always mindful of how the act of photography transforms into a magical experience, Eileen Lerner, the artist, revels in capturing the essence of appearance and the dynamic shifts that she, as a photographer, can orchestrate. Her passion for photography is rooted in the profound moments of transformation that unfold before her lens.

With a keen visual awareness, Eileen recognizes that conceptualization is distinct from the alchemical process. She understands that the magic lies not only in the idea but also in the transformative journey it undergoes. The element of surprise remains a constant companion, whether emanating from a spontaneous gesture, an emotion conveyed by a model, the interplay of light from a source, or the enhancements introduced in the digital darkroom.

Eileen finds joy in the unexpected outcomes that arise during the creative process. It is the unforeseen revelations and nuances that emerge from her work that truly captivate her.

Ms. Lerner has meticulously captured a series of visuals across various mediums, employing her digital expertise to imbue them with a distinct aura of deconstruction and solarization.

It is noteworthy that not every image within her collection undergoes the solarization process; rather, Ms. Lerner selectively applies this technique. She perceives that the altered images transcend into an alternate dimensionality, where they assert their visual presence independently without any additional digital manipulation.

In 2023, Eileen Lerner has showcased her art at three notable exhibitions: the Affordable Art Fair in NYC, High Priestess Gallery, and ASMPNY on Artsy. In 2022, she participated in the Group Show Aqua ASMP Art Basel and the Miami Showcase on Artsy, as well as the "Portals" exhibition at A Smith Gallery in Texas, curated by Elizabeth Avedon. Noteworthy exhibitions from previous years include the Treat Gallery's "Pretty In Pink" Group Show in 2020, where she won the American Photography award, and the 2019 and 2018 Group Shows at ASMP Art Basel in Miami, among others. Eileen's artistic journey spans various prestigious exhibitions, including being honored as the "Irving Penn" Artist of the Year in the 20th Annual Friends of Friends Auction and Gallery in NYC in 2018. Her career highlights also include a Solo Salon Show at Paul Labrecque in NYC in 2016 and an Honorable Mention Award at the Soho Digital Art Group Show in the same year.
