BRIT BUNKLEY
Brit Bunkley is a New Zealand/US artist whose work has been shown internationally.
"I am intrigued by the intersection of virtual and physical sculpture and the juncture of animation and captured video. The content of my work explores an oblique sense of paranoid apocalyptic fear tempered with a sense of whimsy and irony, conditioned by a deep interest in politics, the environment, and history. Most of these works pertain to a personal and secular interpretation of eschatology, a part of theology concerned with the final events of history, and the potential for real, existing utopias.”
Bunkley’s work has been shown at screenings including the White Box gallery in NYC and the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (2016, 2018, 2019). He took part in the File Sao Paolo exhibitions 2017-2020 and the Kasseler Dokfest in 2019.
