PAOLA DE STEFANO MERAZZI
Creating visual images transcend language barriers. Creating images is my way of communicating. I am human and I manufacture images
— Paola de Stefano Merazzi

Paola de Stefano, Peace Rally.

Long Island NY based visual artist, Paola de Stefano Merazzi, has been manufacturing illustrations since the early nineties. As a graphic designer and illustrator she is the force behind Artextiles Design Studio. Notable customers over the years include: The White House gift shop, Democratic Party, Republican Party, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Budweiser, Jeep, Disney, NYC Board of Education, The Museum Store, Tabasco, Jerry Garcia, Chevrolet, The Children Foundation, Autism Awareness, Susan G. Komen Foundation among many others.

It wasn't until 2005, while running the Artextiles Design Studio in Dumbo, NY, that she took a bold step and ventured into the world of painting. Initially, her artistic pursuits served as a personal form of expression. MoMeStudio emerged as the birthplace of her art career, running concurrently with her day job as an Illustrator and surface designer. Discovering a sense of belonging in the warehouses and cobblestone streets of Dumbo, she opened the doors of her studio during the 9th Annual DUMBO Art Under The Bridge Studio Visit in the same year. Vulnerable and exposed, she shared her work with the public, finding the experience exhilarating. Hungry for more, she continued to create, earning awards and showcasing her paintings in the United States and Europe over the years.

In the age of AI-powered tools and platforms that can generate images based on given parameters or styles, it’s important to remember that artists and creators play a vital role in the process of image-making. They bring their unique perspectives, ideas, and skills to transform concepts into visual representations. While technology can aid in the creation of images, the artistic vision and interpretation always lie in the hands of the human creators.
